"What you feel only matters to you.

It's what you do to the people you love that counts."

Found this interesting:

Once there were two students walking along a river. One of them just so happened to glance over at something floating in the river. It did not take long for him to realize that it was a baby! Without hesitation he jumped into the river to save the infant from drowning. When he jumped in he realized that there were at least ten more in his immediate area, all of them screaming and crying as they bobbed by.
Quite naturally he started screaming to the other student. "Help! C'mon man! Get in here! Look at all of these babies! We gotta help 'em!" The other student, however, kept walking upstream, despite noticing a river full of babies, with more and more floating downstream.

For every one that the first student saved, eight passed him. There were just too many."C'mon man! Don't you have a heart?! I can't grab all of these babies alone!"

The second student replied, "I'm going upstream to find out who's throwing all of these babies in the river."

Look for the cause, not the effects.

There's something oddly surreal about waking through a mist or a fog that hovers low enough to touch the damned ground.

Walking home from the nearest major intersection tonight, wandering through a relatively quiet and remote seeming neighborhood, the fog was everywhere.

Blurred the streetlights and erased the horizon. Cars driving up from in front or behind seemed like messangers from another realm before they got close enough for me to make out details.

Atop the bridge that marks near the end of the southern end of Kennedy road, you can see far....into a silvery grey haze dotted by the occasional houselight at ground level far below.

You feel alone in a world that's slowly and without a fuss, fading away into the mist of it's origins.

Closer to home, I can hear a faint whirring noise ahead of me and I glance up, peering up and over the lenses of my glasses that have taken upon them a tendency to fog up slightly as I breathed.

Two men on bicycles, about 25-30 drifted by slowly and lazily, calling out, "happy thanksgiving my friend," with a languid wave of the hand.

"Happy turkey day to you too."

And so it was.

I saved a squirrel's life today.

Was driving to work, zooming down Kingston with a lotta cars behind me when I saw a squirrel all the way up ahead slooowly crossing the road.

It froze in the center of the road as I barrelled down so I slowed down and eventually came to a complete stop, ignoring the honking behind me.

Squirrel restored his survival instincts and slooowly hopped back across the road to where he came from.

I continued along my way happy despite the drivers behind me that started cutting me off and giving me the finger.

A lot of these stories have been about animals lately no?

At work, we had a 3 hour unpaid break in the middle due to no flights and sat out, ordered pizza and watched the airshow that was going on.

Fighter jets are badass @.@

And so, here's the truth about the truth.

It hurts.

So....we lie.
